fine, except not
Do you feel fine? Like: I’m FINE. As in: Don’t keep asking or I’ll explode. Fine? Or: Okay, obviously I’m not fine but I’m also fine so don’t worry about me. Under that “fine” is a lot of stuff. Maybe fear, loss, shame, even joy. Anxiety can blunt all of that to stay in a narrow safe band of “fine.”
I can’t free you from anxiety (so sorry) but over time psychotherapy can make a small space in your week that is about taking care of you, encouraging self-compassion and discovery, and learning breathing and movement rituals to take into your daily life. With this space, anxiety can become less dense—more diffuse and more tolerable.
The nature of therapy is also special. You can share all the stuff you aren’t “supposed to” say in your daily life. There is something you want to change, or wonder what it would feel like if that changed—that’s why you clicked onto this page. Together we can figure out what you value and what choices you can make to move towards those values.
We will use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and somatic techniques to help you cultivate more psychological flexibility and physical adaptability moving you towards an efficient body and effective mind.
