Some children learn to read, almost effortlessly. Maybe your first child did and it was really cool and exciting. Now maybe your second child begs you to read to him but storms off when you ask him to try. Most children need to be taught the building blocks of reading. This is what schools need to be teaching.

But there are also kids who need repetitive, supportive, direct, and customized intervention—that’s where I come in. Using both print-to-speech and speech-to-print strategies, I use research-based methods to teach your child to read. I make it super fun, while  staying focused, and documenting progress.

Reading is a hot topic right now and like all things hot, it can get heated quickly. My role in reading intervention is to work closely with kids and parents who have diagnosed or suspected language based learning disorders. If you know your child has a Specific Learning Disorder in reading or Dyslexia, let’s meet to discuss an intervention plan. If you are concerned about your child’s literacy development and don’t know why they aren’t reading at grade level, start with a Literacy Screening.
